Below
are some hosting tips which will optimize the performance of
HelpMeeting Presenter and make your presentation more productive.
None
of these suggestions are required, but they will improve your
overall presentation.
|
-
To ensure your (host) screen is not larger than
your participants' screens and for fastest performance, set the host monitor
to 800 x 600. You may do this by right-clicking anywhere on the
desktop, choosing Properties, choosing Settings, and setting your Screen
Resolution to 800 x 600 pixels. If this creates unnecessary white
borders for most of your participants, you may want to leave your PC set at a
higher resolution.
-
Suggest your participants press F11 (Function 11) to place their browsers into full-screen mode
or selecting View/Full Screen from the browser menu.
-
Suggest your participants turn down their
speaker volume
to eliminate any browser clicking which may occur with certain browsers.
-
To download the mouse plugin for Sun Java 1.4
is not required when using the latest Sun Java 1.5 or greater.
-
Presenter supports Windows IE
5/6, Mozilla 5.0 based browsers (Linux), Opera, FireFox, Netscape, and
MAC Safari.
-
identify which version of Java is loaded in your browser. For best
results use Sun Java JRE version 1.5 or higher. It can be downloaded here.
-
If you have already downloaded the Sun
JRE 1.5 and it is not being detected, verify that it is selected as the active
JAVA version. For Internet Explorer go to Tools-->Internet
Options, select the Advanced Tab and scroll down to the Java (Sun)
option, verify the 'Use JRE 1.5_x for ... " option is checked in the
checkbox. After checking the box, you must restart your browser
for the change to take effect.
